Teddy Bear Appeal
Can you help us create a new home for Worthington and his friends?
The teddy bears of Worthing Museum and Art Gallery need a new home. The cases we have lived in for decades have fallen apart and risked letting in naughty bugs that would nibble our sawdust stuffing and dirt.
To help keep us safe the curators have had to take us off display or risk permanent damage. All of us are now safely tucked up in our boxes in the stores but we really miss seeing all our many young friends (we have greeted over a million of you from the foyer over the years) and we would love to go back on display as quickly as we can.
To do this the museum needs to raise £100,000 to create a new home for us (and our best friends the toys and dolls). Some of them have not been on show for many years and would really love to come out of storage and see you. A lot of them are well over 100 years old and want to make sure they look their best so they will need a good wash and brush up first from a friendly conservator.
The curators love us very much and want to be able to create a new permanent gallery for us bears and be able to offer families a wonderful opportunity to learn all about fascinating stories of our lives.
We will make sure that everyone who gives over £1000 will be thanked with a shiny gold paw print in the gallery so that everyone can see how kind you have been.
