Archaeology Talks 2019: Cissbury & Iron Age Sussex

Cissbury Ring is the largest jewel in Worthing’s crown. The second-largest hill fort in Britain, Cissbury has fascinated people for centuries. In this talk we will unravel the mysteries of the site, and look at how the local landscape, and society, changed during the Iron Age.

Autumn lecture programme

This year sees the return of our popular autumn lecture programme at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery. This year we’ll be covering a huge swathe of the history of Worthing and Sussex, starting with the early hominids who called this land home some 480,000 years ago, all the way through to the trials of World War II.

Talks are £7.50/person, which includes a glass of wine (plus tea/coffee) and the opportunity to handle genuine artefacts from our collections after each lecture. If you book all 8 talks then you get 2 free! Talks start at 18:30 and with the object handling session usually finish around 20:30. Suitable for ages 16+.
