The Museum’s collections are very diverse. We have one of the largest costume collections in the country as well as a stunning collection of toys and dolls. The Fine Art and Decorative Art Collections span several centuries and many styles.

Sale of Goods Refund Policy

Returned Goods (Non Faulty items)

If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you have the right to return your purchase within 28 days from date of purchase for credit or refund.

It is your responsibility to return purchases in pristine condition and in its original packaging. You will be wholly responsible for the cost of return delivery and safe return of the goods.

Returning Beauty, Earrings, Food, Hampers, Music and DVD, Personalised and made-to-order items.

Refunds will only be given in accordance with your legal rights on the above products. If your product is faulty, damaged or unfit for purpose, please contact the Museum Shop

Faulty or Damaged Goods

Faulty or damaged goods will be replaced or a refund made. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. In the event of any goods supplied being faulty please visit us, or telephone during our opening hours.

All complaints will be dealt with immediately and any actions taken will be fully explained on the same day of possible.

 

Refund Policy – Events

Event Tickets: Cancellation and Refund Policy

Due to the limited number of tickets available to our events we apply the following cancellation and refund policy:

  • Requests for refunds received more than seven working days prior to the date of the event will receive a full refund
  • Requests for refunds received within 7 working days of the event date, refund will not be given

Cancellations should be made in person at the Museum desk or in writing to be received more than 7 working days of the event to:

If, for any reason, the Museum has to cancel an event we will notify you by telephone if you have provided that information upon booking and will refund your ticket in full.

Privacy and Security:

To make sure you always have the highest level of security, your payment details are not held by the Museum once payment has been made. We will store details of you and your order on our systems so that we can efficiently process your order. We may use these later to send you details of our future events if you have requested this.

Ticketing:

Full payment is required for all events at the time of booking as we cannot guarantee spaces if they are not paid for in advance. Payment may be by cash or card. Refunds will only be made onto the card used for the original purchase.

Tickets for Telephone Bookings will be available to collect on the door.

Refund Policy – Exhibition Sales

Artwork Purchase: Sale of Goods from Exhibition & Refund Policy

All items under £100 must be paid for in full at time of purchase. In the case of items over £100 a non-refundable deposit must be paid in order to secure the art work and all items must be paid in full before they are collected.

Collection of Art Works: Items cannot be collected prior to the end of an exhibition unless by prior arrangement with the curator and the artist. Items must be collected within 14 days of the end of an exhibition.

Owners will then be notified of uncollected items in writing. After a further 14 days from the date of the letter all unclaimed items will be treated as lost property.
